We Started Out Knowing Nothing About Business

When we first started out, we quickly realized that the 2 unit business management course offered at my acupuncture school did little to prepare us for creating a successful practice.

We did everything we knew to get clients and build a business that supported us both emotionally and financially, but no matter how hard we tried, we just weren’t getting enough clients to pay the bills and at one point I even considered getting a J-O-B.

But Then Something Miraculous Happened

We signed up for our first business seminar. Not one of those parks & recreation courses, but a real live 5 day seminar in Los Angeles. I even borrowed the money for the $4,000 tuition because I knew that the people who were teaching the course knew way more about running a successful business than we did. I remember driving up to the hotel and using the bellman’s cart to unload not just our suitcases but also the grocery bags of food we brought to save money.

Throughout the course we learned about strategies that create real success in business (rather than theoretical success taught in coaching or acupuncture school), but more importantly, we developed relationships with some of the teachers who became mentors.

After the seminar, we were so excited about everything we learned. But once we were back in our life, without the ongoing support it was difficult to implement everything we learned.
